What the pay terms mean

Main pay range (MPS, M1 to M6): The pay range for qualified classroom teachers in maintained schools, set each year in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. Teachers usually move up a point each year, subject to their performance. Academies can set their own pay, but most follow it.
Upper pay range (UPS, U1 to U3): A higher range for experienced teachers who have applied and been assessed to move onto it, often called crossing the threshold.
Actual salary: What you will actually be paid a year, after any pro rata adjustment for hours or weeks.

About the job

We require, from January 2027 for 2 terms, a well-qualified subject specialist teacher to join a strong English team to teach up to GCSE, within this oversubscribed school, where expectations are high. The position will suit an NQT or an experienced colleague.

The English department at The Fallibroome Academy is staffed by a team of highly qualified and committed teachers. Working alongside the Head of Department, we have Assistant Heads of Department responsible for KS3 and KS4. The team works collaboratively to deliver the best possible experience to our pupils and we also have the good fortune to benefit from a full-time Curriculum Support Assistant who supports colleagues with certain day-to-day clerical and administrative tasks.
