About the job

Queensbridge School is seeking a dedicated Raising Achievement Assistant to join our expanding SEND team and help transform the life chances of our 900 pupils. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people to thrive.

Working closely with teachers, families, external agencies and the wider SEND team, you will play a key role in promoting inclusion and improving outcomes for young people. We are looking for someone who combines empathy and resilience with professional boundaries, high expectations and a commitment to helping every pupil achieve their potential.

Key areas of responsibility:

Plan and deliver high-quality 1:1 and small-group interventions for pupils with SEND.

Work alongside the SENDCo and Assistant SENDCo to support pupils with SEMH needs, autism and anxiety, particularly where these impact attendance, engagement and learning

Provide classroom support to help pupils make strong academic and personal progress.

Help pupils overcome emotional, social and behavioural barriers to learning.

Work collaboratively with families, external agencies and school staff to improve outcomes.

Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where all pupils can thrive.

Develop your skills further, with opportunities to undertake classroom cover as your confidence grows.

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

A commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all pupils.

Experience of working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SEMH needs and/or autism (desirable).

Empathy, patience and resilience, with a calm, solution-focused approach.
