At Danesfield Middle School, we know that children thrive when they feel safe, supported and connected. Strong relationships with families are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they may face.
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and highly organised Pastoral, Attendance and Family Support Officer to join our dedicated safeguarding and inclusion team. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of children and families through early intervention, positive relationships and effective multi-agency working.
Working closely with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies, you will play a vital role in improving attendance, supporting wellbeing, coordinating family support and contributing to the school's safeguarding provision. You will be a trusted professional who can build strong relationships, challenge sensitively where needed and help remove barriers that prevent children from flourishing.
We are looking for someone who:
- Experience of working with children, young people and families;
- passionate about improving attendance and supporting vulnerable pupils;
- Can build positive, professional relationships with parents, carers and external agencies;
- Excellent organisational, communication and record-keeping skills;
- Emotionally resilient, compassionate and solution-focused;
- Shares our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and ensuring every child feels they belong.
In return, we offer:
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and families every day
- Supportive and welcoming team that values collaboration and professional growth
- excellent training and development in safeguarding, attendance, family support and trauma-informed practice
- Chance to be part of an ambitious school where inclusion, relationships and high expectations underpin everything we do.
Term time only staff - There are many advantages to working for us. Included in your actual annual salary is generous annual leave entitlement, access to a local government pension scheme, sick pay scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, free eye tests for VDU users and employee assistance helpline. Support staff in schools can also benefit from a range of national discount schemes available to education professionals such as the Blue Light Card offering savings on shopping, travel, and leisure.
If you believe that strong partnerships with families can transform children's lives and are committed to helping every pupil attend, engage and achieve, we would love to hear from you.
We welcome visits to our school – please contact us and ask for Kellie Willis to arrange a time.
We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
