Pupil Protect
Attendance and safeguarding on one record
Pupil Protect flags persistent and severe absence, sudden drops and children missing education, next to every concern about that child.
About the job
The Inclusion and Attendance Co-ordinator plays a key role in promoting excellent attendance, punctuality, inclusion and positive educational outcomes for all pupils. The postholder will coordinate and monitor attendance and inclusion processes across the school, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils through Individual Attendance and Engagement Plans (IAEPs) and alternative provision arrangements.
Working closely with school leaders, parents/carers, external agencies and alternative provision providers, the role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, analysing attendance and inclusion data, coordinating interventions, and ensuring appropriate support is in place to maximise pupil engagement and success. The postholder will build positive relationships with families, monitor pupil welfare and progress, and contribute to the school's safeguarding, attendance and inclusion strategies.
In addition, the role provides operational and administrative support across attendance, behaviour and inclusion functions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, effective communication with stakeholders, and the delivery of targeted interventions that improve pupil attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
