About the job

Due to the semi-retirement of a highly valued and long-serving member of staff, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our thriving and successful school as a Family Support and Attendance Officer

This is a pivotal role within our Inclusion Team, supporting children and families to overcome barriers to attendance, wellbeing and learning. Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher, SENDCo and safeguarding team, you will lead Early Help work, provide family support, contribute as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and coordinate attendance interventions that help every child thrive.

At Heathcote Primary School, we are proud to be a friendly, ambitious and inclusive school at the heart of our community. Since opening in 2017, we have grown into a vibrant and successful school where relationships matter, children are known as individuals and everyone is encouraged to develop a lifelong love of learning. Our core value of Respect underpins all that we do, and we believe strongly in working in partnership with families to achieve the very best outcomes for children.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of working with children, families and external agencies.

Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Can lead and coordinate Early Help support and Team Around the Family meetings.

Is passionate about improving attendance and removing barriers to learning.

Can build positive, professional and supportive relationships with parents and carers.

Is organised, resilient and able to manage a varied caseload.

Shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and high expectations for all children.

In return we offer:

A welcoming and supportive staff team.

Wonderful children who are eager to learn and succeed.

Strong leadership and professional support.

Opportunities for professional development and training.

A thriving school community where relationships and wellbeing are valued.

The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and families.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the school office.

Should you require any other details or would like to request an informal discussion or visit then please contact: Miss Evie O’keeffe (email address on the original advert) (phone number on the original advert).

Closing date for applications is: Wednesday 28th October 2026

Interviews will take place on week beginning: Monday 2nd November 2026
