About the job

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy SENDCo to join The Birley Academy and play a key role in ensuring that every pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can achieve their full potential. Working closely with the SENDCo and senior leaders, you will help lead and develop SEND provision across the academy while providing operational leadership for our Integrated Resource, supporting pupils with communication and interaction needs, including autism. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to make a lasting impact on the educational, social and emotional outcomes of some of our most vulnerable learners.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic qualified teacher with a strong understanding of SEND provision, EHCP processes and inclusive education. You will be passionate about removing barriers to learning, supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding classroom practice and working collaboratively with families and external agencies. The successful candidate will be an organised and resilient leader who is committed to championing inclusion, promoting high aspirations and securing the very best outcomes for young people with SEND.

Why Join Us?

At The Birley Academy, inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. As part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, you will join a supportive and values-driven community committed to helping both pupils and staff thrive. You'll benefit from excellent professional development opportunities, leadership support, access to Trust-wide networks and the chance to shape SEND provision across a rapidly improving academy rated Good by Ofsted. Located in Sheffield, you'll enjoy working within a welcoming and diverse community while making a meaningful difference to the lives of young people every day.
