About the job

Are you passionate about helping young people thrive? Do you have the resilience, empathy and determination to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Behaviour Mentor to join our dedicated pastoral team at Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy.

In this rewarding role, you will make a real difference every day by supporting students to overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours and build the confidence they need to succeed both academically and personally. Working closely with students, families, teachers and external agencies, you will help young people navigate challenges, develop emotional resilience and make positive choices for their future.

No two days are the same. From supporting students in lessons and social spaces to mentoring individuals and providing targeted interventions, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every student can flourish.

Why Saint Benedict?

Situated in the beautiful Darley Abbey area of Derby, Saint Benedict is the city's only Catholic secondary school, welcoming students from over 40 countries and celebrating the diversity, individuality and talents of our school community.

We are particularly proud of our inclusive culture, where students are encouraged to care for and support one another, and where our dedicated SEN and Inclusion Team works to ensure that every young person feels they belong.

You will be joining a supportive community of professionals who believe in working together, sharing expertise and making a meaningful difference every day.

Why join St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust?

As part of our family of 25 Catholic schools, you will benefit from:

  • Excellent professional development, with access to high-quality training, CPD and opportunities to grow your career.

  • Genuine career progression, across our Trust and the wider family of 83 academies within the Diocese of Nottingham.

  • A generous pension, through the Local Government Pension Scheme, with significant employer contributions.

  • Support for your wellbeing, including access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme, available 24/7.

  • Nationally agreed terms and conditions, reflecting our commitment to valuing and supporting our colleagues.

  • A strong sense of purpose, working within a community where compassion, inclusion and service to others are at the heart of everything we do.

Ready to make a difference?

If you believe that every young person deserves someone in their corner, we would love to hear from you.

Come and help us turn potential into possibility, one student, one achievement and one school day at a time.
